Seeing Dubai, oh the excitement. So officially on vacation mode, gearing up to spend the last few days of Ramadan and going sightseeing in one of the places I have longed to go see for as long as I can remember. However, let’s not forget that one thing is for sure--things are meant to be.
From all the traveling and my exhaustion from the heat, as I arrived Dubai, my body had given up...at least temporarily. I had plans to go see the big mosque in Abu dhabi and lots of sight seeing in Dubai, but I wasn’t able to do any of it. Like my dad says, you can do anything in life as long as you have good health and intention by your side. Besides the fact that sightseeing is not the easiest in Ramadan in UAE, I became extremely sick with severe abdominal pain and nausea enough to keep me from going anywhere. Only after coming back from the ER with some shots, drips, and medication is what did the trick and I was able to feel better again, alhamdulillah. However, all of this did cost me the few days of sightseeing I had set aside :o(
But of course, there was some good :) Although some of my time was not so great, most of it was pretty awesome, even with a little change of plans. I spent more time with my relatives at home, who took such good care of me in every way possible and I’m not sure how I would have managed on my own. I got to see some of the most beautiful malls in Dubai and Al-Ain and had one memorable Eid. Although I cried from pain and uneasiness, I shared many laughs and good times I hope to remember forever. What I will miss the most on my little crazy vacation here is that alhamdulillah, I am blessed to have family all over. And of course next time, if it’s meant to be, I will see as much of Dubai as my heart wills :)
